Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's bombshell Netflix docuseries did not make the cut for the Emmy Nominations 2023 which could have big consequences for the couple's struggling media career.
The couple suffered another huge loss just last month after their $21m Spotify deal was cancelled and with the heavy criticism they've received from the media industry in recent week, this awards snub could not have come at a worse time.
Without an Emmy nomination which they were previously tipped to receive, the Sussexes' may have missed out on over $300m worth of exclusive deals and contracts, media commentator Mark Boardman has claimed.
Harry and Meghan's lack of nomination came as a shock and has reportedly left the couple "rattled" after they were "100 percent confident" their ground breaking series would get at least one nomination.
However, the documentary was left out of every category, the Mirror reports.
Boardman told Daily Express US: "There is a lot standing on Netflix's investment if it doesn't win but the award would carry huge status for them".
He previously predicted an Emmys Award win could have bagged the couple exclusive deals worth hundreds of millions.
Before the list was released, Boardman said: "Based on viewing figures alone, it has to be nominated for being groundbreaking TV."
While Harry and Meghan may now miss out on those lucrative deals, they are still clinging onto their $100m contract with Netflix.
In the first week of the release of their bombshell documentary, around 4.5m viewers tuned in to watch the show which has outstripped both Stranger Things and The Crown.
The couple made a series of shocking allegations against Harry's own family including his brother Prince William and father King Charles III.
