Jem Aswad Executive Editor, Music Just two days after performing with Usher during the Super Bowl Halftime show, Grammy-Oscar-Emmy winner H.E.R. has announced that she’s signed with Lighthouse Management and Media for management across all areas of her career. She will be managed at the company by Aleen Keshishian and Zack Morgenroth.
According to the announcement, “H.E.R. is set to embark on a new chapter in her career, underscoring her commitment to expanding her artistic reach and exploring new creative avenues.” A precocious singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, H.E.R. appeared on the cover of Variety in July of 2021 and won five Grammys, and Oscar and Emmy before the age of 26, and released the song “I Can’t Breathe,” inspired by the death of George Floyd at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, when she was just 23.
That song won a Grammy, and her song “Fight for You,” from “Judas and the Black Messiah,” won an Oscar for best original song. She won her Emmy in 2022 for her work on the Netflix animated series “We the People” — leaving her just a Tony Award away from EGOT status. While prolific earlier in her career, she has released little new music under her own name since her debut 2021 full-length album “Back of My Mind,” although she has collaborated with multiple artists in that time, including Usher on “Risk It All” and Foo Fighters on “The Glass.” She parted ways with original manager Jeff Robinson in 2022.

Steven J. Horowitz Senior Music Writer On “Do It,” nestled halfway through Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s collaborative album “Vultures 1,” America’s second-biggest controversy magnet raps, “You don’t like it? That’s your loss.” Contending and conversing with West’s music in 2024 is an obstacle course. The rapper, undeniably one of music’s most influential creative forces, has spent the past few years making headlines less for his music than the controversies by his own hand (and mouth), alienating casual listeners with divisive rhetoric and forcing his core fan base to reconcile with their evaluation of art made by a deeply polarizing artist.
