Colin McGhee, 28, was sentenced to five years and 10 months for the attack in Greenock, Inverclyde, on September 28 2020.
The High Court in Glasgow had earlier heard how McGhee carried out the attack at Craig McFarlane’s property in the town.

Lord Scott told McGhee - who accepts full responsibility for his crime - that he had had to go to jail for his crimes.
He added: “I have considered and take into account the terms of the Criminal Justice Social Work Report and all that was carefully said on your behalf by Mr Findlay and by Ms Young.
