The UK property market is showing no signs of slowing down with demand to buy a home at its highest level in recent years. According to property site Zoopla, demand for homes is currently 25 per cent higher than the average over the last five years.
Even amid the cost of living crisis, levels of buyer interest remain on a par with this time last year. Although house hunters are now expected to be impacted by the Bank of England's most recent interest rate rise and some may be pushed out of the market, Zoopla say this is being offset by those with a continued desire to move.
Data from Zoopla's latest house price index on August 1 has now revealed the areas of the UK with the highest and lowest demand to buy a home in the UK, with one town in Greater Manchester being named among the top five most popular places.

Claiming the top spot as the most in-demand area is Bradford with a whopping 98 per cent rise in buyer demand in the last five years.
In second place is Wolverhampton, where demand has gone up by 91 per cent compared to the five-year average. This is followed by Warrington in third place with a 70 per cent rise in popularity in recent years.
Next is Reading, with 69 per cent more buyers increasing demand in the last five years.
In fifth place is Oldham in Greater Manchester, where the demand to buy a home has gone up by 65 per cent compared to the five year average.
Completing the list of the UK's most popular areas are Romford, Preston, Coventry, Teesside and Northampton, each with around 60 per cent more buyer demand.
