Good Morning Britain star Charlotte Hawkins has been supported by her colleagues, friends and fans as she opened up about a heartbreaking family loss. The presenter said 'it's taken me a while' as she shared that her beloved pet pooch had passed away a number of weeks ago.
Charlotte shared the news after her programme on dangerous dogs was aired on ITV. The radio and TV star, who is a regular on the ITV news programme, investigated the growing problem of dog attacks in the ITV programme Dangerous Dogs: What’s The Truth? earlier this week.
And as she delved into the topic, she was also seen with her own beloved Bailey who has died since filming took place. Sharing the news on social media, the 48-year-old shared a carousel of images of her with her late fog, including one where she lovingly looked down as Bailey sat with her tongue drooping out.

Other adorable pictures showed Bailey as a puppy, as well as one where she was being cuddled by Charlotte and her then-baby daughter, Ella, who is now eight years old. "It’s taken a while for me to be able to post this as I can’t believe she’s gone," Charlotte started her touching tribute on Instagram on Saturday (August 12).
She went on to write: "Our beautiful, gorgeous rescue dog Bailey has left us. She brought us so much joy over the last 16 years. One of the family, who was much-loved by all who met her.
"She had such a lovely nature, and helped cure quite a few who had a fear of dogs. She was filmed recently for my @itvtonight documentary, then died just a few days afterwards so that’s the last footage I have of her. She’ll be very much-missed. There’s now no patter of paws
