Good Friday is set to be the hottest day of the year so far, experts have predicted, ahead of “very pleasant” spring conditions over the Easter weekend. In Manchester, the mercury will hit 20C.
The best of the weather will be between 3pm and 6pm this afternoon, with it staying at 19C at 7pm, and 17C by 8pm. That’s according to the Met Office’s forecast.
Saturday is also going to be warm, at 20C, with cloud, and Sunday is set to be 18C. By Monday, things do cool off, as there will only be highs of 13C.

The strength of UV rays could hit 6, which is considered “high” on the Met Office’s index. This increase has been caused by slightly depleted stratospheric ozone, which helps protect Earth from the rays, he said.
Naturally occurring reactions in the atmosphere as well as man-made emissions both contribute to the phenomenon, which is usually temporary, the forecaster added. He
