Good Morning Britain staff reportedly threatened to boycott the show after learning that ITV bosses were in talks to get former presenter Piers Morgan on as a guest. According to The Mirror, Piers, 57, was keen to return to promote his new TalkTV show Uncensored a year after he stormed off of GMB following a row with weatherman Alex Beresford, 41, about Meghan Markle, 40.
"Piers has made it quite clear what he thinks of GMB since he flounced out," a source told the publication. "Barely a day goes by without him sniping that ratings are down, and that he was the best thing about the show." Luckily, it appears ITV bosses came to a compromise and put Piers, who recently enjoyed dinner with Amanda Holden with a private chef, on Lorraine Kelly's programme instead.
Sources from the programme were adamant that it was an "editorial decision" to have Piers on with Lorraine as they "enjoyed a 30-year friendship and also presented on GMB together so it was thought to be a good fit." OK! Online has approached ITV for further comment on the report. Piers' brand new programme launched on Monday 25 April evening, but fans were left unimpressed as he started it all off by promising his show to be a "no cancel zone".
As viewers watched his opening monologue followed by an interview with former President of the United States Donald Trump, many dubbed it all "too American". "I'm not entirely sure on this.
