Scots have been left baffled after spotting a mystery 'black object' in the sky, while capturing the beauty of the full moon on Boxing Day.
One Glasgow resident was filming into the full moon and zoomed in before being taken aback by the unknown object.
Megan Cochrane, who was taking the footage from her family home in Knightswood, believed the sky was "opening up" and had never seen anything like it before.
The object appeared to have a vertical trajectory when first filmed as it stretched higher.
It then appeared to break apart, with the top section turning horizontally and moving through the sky.
Speaking to Glasgow Live, perplexed Megan, 26, said: "I noticed this black oval shape and I made a joke saying it looks like the sky is opening up.
"But then it got bigger and split into two and stretched out while getting longer and travelling through the sky."
