The social enterprise, Kidzeco, has been appointed The Centre, Livingston’s Charity Partner for December.
It’s part of its ‘Support in the Community Initiative’ to help a different charity each month to raise awareness and appeal for donations, and present them with a £250 Gift Card.
Kidzeco, which is based in the shopping centre, was set up in 2010 by Tracy Murdoch.
Their mission is to run various services and facilities that builds the skills, confidence, resilience and wellbeing of many disadvantaged families in West Lothian.
They also have retail outlets that facilitate the sale of affordable high quality preloved baby and children’s goods, which highlight how the cycle of donating and purchasing can help the local community and the planet.
Any profits received from the sale of donations are reinvested to support families in the local community through projects like KidzStart and Bumpz 2 Babiez.
Visitors to The Centre, Livingston can find out more about Kidzeco at their pop up in the mall, which every charity is given as part of the partnership this weekend, located nearby the Customer Service Desk.
Throughout the weekend, Kidzeco is appealing for donations of new toys to be gifted to children this Christmas and are also offering a donations-based gift-wrapping service where all funds raised will go towards providing a traditional Christmas dinner to families in West Lothian, which is part of their annual Christmas Dinner Appeal.
Kidzeco is also inviting anyone who can’t drop by at the weekend the chance to support their appeal by gifting a dinner on the website, www.bookwhen.com/kidzeco.
