George Galloway has said that he is "not going to fight against the SNP" in Westminster because he is "no longer involved" in Scottish politics.
The Dundee native said he would be willing to work with the nationalists to force a vote on a Gaza ceasefire.
He also praised the SNP for its "outstanding" work on the issue while speaking in Westminster.
Galloway is a staunch opponent of Scottish independence and founded the British Unionist All for Unity in 2020.
The party ran at the 2021 Holyrood election with the main aim of getting the SNP out of office.
When asked by the Daily Record if he would continue his fight against the SNP in Westminster, Galloway said: "I'm not going to fight against the SNP in here because I am no longer involved in Scottish politics.
"So I'll leave that to the Scottish people to decide in Scotland."
The Workers Party of Great Britain leader was speaking to journalists outside the House of Commons on Monday afternoon.
He won the Rochdale by-election last week, meaning he has now been elected as an MP for three different parties.
The former Labour and Respect member swept to victory, gaining almost 40 per cent of the vote in a contest mired in chaos and controversy and dominated by Gaza.
Galloway said he would work alongside the SNP to force a ceasefire vote.
He said: "I certainly will work with the SNP to try and force a proper vote on a ceasefire.
"I'm not a supporter of the SNP, as you know, or their central cause of separation.
"But I think they've been outstanding on the Gaza question, at least in comparison with the two big parties of the state."
He also said his party would not stand against the SNP at the general election: "We don't operate electorally in Scotland."
