Gene Simmons had to tone down the rock and roll during a recent concert.
During KISS‘ concert on Wednesday (April 12) in Manaus, Brazil, the band needed to briefly pause the show after the 73-year-old singer and bass player became sick on stage.

“Hold on, hold on,” singer and guitarist Paul Stanley told the audience mid-show, as seen in videos shared online by fans. “We’re gonna have to stop.”
“We know how much you love Gene, and he’s obviously sick,” Paul, 71 continued. “We’re gonna have to stop to take care of him, because we love him, right? Let’s give Gene a really loud, ‘Gene!’ One, two, three — Gene!”
The show came to a halt for about five minutes before Gene returned to the stage to perform “Say Yeah” while seated in a chair, according to a clip posted by ACritica.
Following the show, Gene took to Twitter to reveal what happened.
“Hey everybody, thanks for the good wishes. I’m fine. Yesterday at Manaus Stadium in Brazil, experienced weakness because of dehydration,” Gene explained. “We stopped for about five minutes, I drank some water, and then all was well. Nothing serious. Tomorrow, Bogota Stadium. See you there!”
KISS is currently in the midst of their End of the Road Tour and will return to the United States for shows from October through December.

The Swiss-Canadian director was competing with an unusual project: made in the form of a diary filmed from 2019 to 2021, “While the Green Grass Grows” is in fact a series of seven episodes with a total duration of about 11 hours. It was the finished parts one and six of the series, totalling 166 minutes, that were unveiled in world premiere at Visions du Réel and running for the Grand Prix. The whole project was also presented in the Work-in-Progress section in order to find other financing and distribution platforms to finalize the remaining parts, which have already been widely edited. This is the second time that Mettler has won the Grand Prix at Visions du Réel, after his victory in 2002 with “Gambling, Gods and LSD.”
