Gemma Collins 'reduced to tears' after shedding almost a stone in one week

Gemma Collins is on a weight loss journey and appears to be off to a flying start, as she has admitted to losing almost a stone in just one week after beginning a new diet plan.
The former TOWIE star, 43, who recently got engaged, has changed her diet by working with bodybuilder Eddie Abbew, focusing on a high-protein diet which includes whole foods and less carbs. Explaining how she has already transformed during week one, Gemma posted to Instagram: "I'm in shock, I came to see Eddie a week ago and I've just got back on the scales and I've dropped 13.8 pounds, nearly a stone. Just under a stone in a week.
I was reduced to tears, I looked at you [Eddie] and was like, 'sorry, is that right?' No vigorous exercise, no training for 8 hours a day." Chiming in, Eddie asked: "Were you ever hungry?" "No", Gemma replied. "I'm sharp as a knife. I'm raring to go.
I've never done any sort of plan where I've eaten real food, I've eaten nuts, I've eaten feta, eggs, meat, avocado. It's bizarre. I just cannot wait, bring on week two." This loss is the pick me up that Gemma needed, after opening up about her weight loss struggles earlier this month, where she admitted to feeling like her heart is "being ripped out" as she cannot "master weight loss".
Talking about her efforts with her 2.6M Instagram followers, Gemma said she'd been working out for two hours per day for a whole week but stepped on the scales to find out she'd only lost a quarter of a pound, leaving her feeling disappointed.
However, she vowed to "keep showing up". She wrote: "KEEP SHOWING UP against all odds and eating chicken for a whole week with water working out 2 hours a day and loosing .4 …. Yes I repeat .4 !!!! of a LB.
