A gang of women wept in court as footage of their attack on a young victim was shown to a judge.
Nadia Gubran and Alya Dahshan, both 21, kidnapped a nursery nurse whom they believed had been exchanging Snapchat messages with a man Gubran was interested in. A court heard how Gubran devised the plot to kidnap the childcare worker alongside Dahshan.
They recruited Layla Obad, 20, to carry out the ambush as the victim strolled through Sefton Park, Merseyside, on March 21 last year. They snatched the 23-year-old woman, drove her to a secluded area and attacked her.
Footage of the violence was played at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday. In it, the victim could be seen on the ground in a wooded area, holding up her hands as she was repeatedly punched and kicked.
As reported in the Liverpool Echo, one of the attackers could be heard shouting at her: "Yeah, yeah, yeah, f*** off. Chatting s***. Next time don't f***ing mess with Arabs, alright. D***head. Look at the camera and say it, you won't mess with Arabs."
Two further videos, taken at an earlier stage, were also played, showing the victim face-down on the back seat of the car, and being punched by Gubran.
Dahshan took the first video after the victim was driven to a wooded area in Sefton, Merseyside, where she was pushed into the bushes, and punched and kicked in the head by Gubran and Dahshan. The two women then fled the scene, leaving behind Obad, who apologised to the victim before also running away.
Gubran and Dahshan were today jailed for 20 months and 16 months respectively. Sentencing, Judge Aubrey said: "I'm satisfied that this was a pre-planned, premeditated attack by you, Gubran, and you, Dahshan, upon an innocent woman who was literally bundled off the street into a car
