Friends star Tom Selleck looked unrecognisable as he was photographed without his signature moustache. In a rare public appearance, the 78-year-old actor was spotted venturing out for a fast food treat as he went to pick up a McDonald's. But Tom, who played the Geller family's handsome eye doctor on Friends, looked different without his trademark facial hair.
Instead of rocking his distinctive moustache alone, the Magnum P.I. star opted to join it up with a full salt and pepper beard.
Tom famously played Richard Burke on the hit American show , who went from Monica Geller’s family friend to her lover, despite their 21-year age gap. Fans of the show watched as Monica and Richard tried to keep their relationship platonic, before it blossomed into a romance.
At Monica's eye appointment, she and Richard try to resist the chemistry between them but failed when they ended up sharing a passionate kiss. Over his impressive almost sixty-year career, Tom has had various memorable roles, including his breakout role as investigator Thomas Magnum. The star is currently taking a break from working on the television show Blue Bloods, where he's played NYPD Police Commissioner Frank Reagan since 2010.
The show was affected by the SAG-AFTRA strike, with union actors refusing to work on scripted shows and movies since July. This was the first time the Thomas Magnum actor has been spotted in the last year. He recently celebrated his 35th wedding anniversary to fellow actress Jillie Mack, 65.
The pair tied the knot in 1987 and share one daughter, Hannah, who's 34 years old.
Tom also shares an adopted son, Kevin, now 57, who was the former drummer for the American rock band Tonic, with his ex-wife actress Jacqueline Ray.
