French New Wave cinema star Anna Karina has died at the age of 79.
The actress died in a Paris hospital after a battle with cancer, according to the New York Times.
Karina was known for her frequent work with director Jean-Luc Godard, 89, who she was also briefly married to.

French Montana celebrated last week when the RIAA certified his new album, MONTANA, Gold just days after it was released. He posed with the newly acquired plaque on Instagram, adding that the album had sold 578,000 copies. The achievement caused some confusion, as the rapper only posted roughly 24,000 equivalent album units in sales on the Billboard 200 chart in its first week. But while his math may be confusing, it’s likely correct.
