BBC One adventure programme Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof has been unveiled. The six-part series, hosted by Holly Willoughby, 41, and Lee Mack, 53, will see eight celebrities embark on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure under the training of extreme athlete Wim Hof, 62. Wim, also known as The Iceman, will guide the VIPs though a series of challenges designed to test their limits, both physically and mentally.
The likes of Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell, 32, rapper Professor Green, 38, and actress Tamzin Outhwaite, 51, will be part of the group of stars taking part. They will be seen living together in a tented village in sub-zero temperatures, surrounded by spectacular, icy scenes of Northern Italy. Joining them will be musical theatre legend Alfie Boe, 48, singer Chelcee Grimes, 29, and presenter and former gymnast Gabby Logan, 48.
Welsh weatherman Owain Wyn Evans, 37, and French football player Patrice Evra, 40, are also part of the cast. Each week will see them take on gruelling challenges, which gradually become more daring as the series progresses. Under the encouragement of Wim, the celebrities will reap the rewards of cold-water therapy and face a unique test of mental strength.
Wim has dedicated his life to showing others that they can achieve things they thought were impossible. He has previously used special techniques to control his mind and body while running a half marathon above the Arctic circle barefoot, submerged himself in ice for 1hr 52 mins, and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in just his shorts and shoes. Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof will air on BBC One this Spring. A BBC Three spin-off show will accompany the BBC One series.
