Omonia Nicosia goalkeeper Francis Uzoho described Manchester United shot-stopper David de Gea as a 'legend' after the Spaniard made his 500th appearance for the Reds against Newcastle United on Sunday.
De Gea, who joined United from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid 11 years ago, reached the impressive milestone against the Magpies, becoming just the second goalkeeper in the Reds' history to make 500 appearances or more for the club. De Gea was joined by teammate Cristiano Ronaldo in being honoured ahead of the stalemate with the Magpies getting under way. The latter was also presented with an engraved plate after scoring the 700th goal of his club career in the 2-1 win over Everton a little over a week ago.
