Former Coronation Street Nicola Thorp has announced the safe arrival of her first child. The actress-turned-presenter announced back in September she was pregnant with her and her fiance Nikesh Patel's first baby.
Nicola, who played Nicola Rubinstein, the daughter of villain Pat Phelan, for nearly two years until her exit in 2019, announced the news to her followers on Instagram alongside photos of her and actor Nikesh which showed off her blossoming baby bump. She simply captioned the post "Some news." and set the post to the song 'Knocked Up' by Kings of Leon.
Months later and now TalkTV presenter Nicola has now confirmed she and Nikesh have welcomed a baby girl into the world. Sharing the first picture on Instagram, the black and white snap showed the newborn's tiny hand holding onto her mum and dad's fingers.

Alongside her happy news, Nicola reminded her followers that not all mums are as lucky as her, urging fans to think about those in war-torn areas. In a typed-out message, the new mum penned: "We are delighted to say that we recently welcomed our beautiful baby daughter into the world.
"Everything they say about birth being a rollercoaster of emotions is true. We're shattered and smitten and everything in between. Social media is a difficult place right now. If your timeline is anything like ours, it's filled with images of babies and children dying in conflict or living in fear and unimaginable danger.
"It doesn't feel right to share our news on her without also acknowledging how fortunate we are that our baby is safe. If like us you feel
