Police officers have been pictured scouring the area close to where a man was found dying amid a probe into his suspicious death. The 52-year-old was discovered on the street in Renfrew, near Glasgow, in the early hours of this morning.
Forensic officers and uniformed cops were spotted scouring the scene, which is close to the town's police station, this afternoon as part of an investigation into the incident.
He was discovered injured in the town's Renfield Street around 3am. The street and others in the surrounding area were cordoned off.
A number of police vans and cars were stationed around the cordon, while several officers stood guard at different entry points. Uniformed officers were also seen looking through wheelie bins outside a nearby address.
They examined the contents of black bins in the back garden of a property in Fulbar Lane, which is around 200 yards from where the man is understood to have been found.
Forensic officers also searched the area with evidence markers pictured on the pavement.
The yellow plastic markers could be seen on Renfield Street, close to the corner with Wilson Street. A large part of Wilson Street was also cordoned off, including the back entrance to a Coral bookmakers.
One local, who did not want to be named, told the Record: "It's such a shock, and nobody really knows what happened. That's why the police are here, but obviously someone knows something. I want to know what happened, it makes me feel unsafe not knowing what's gone on."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3am on Monday, October 30, 2023, we received a report of an injured man on Renfield Street, Renfrew.
