Filming has been underway around Glasgow for the latest movie shot by award winning director Ken Loach’s production company.
On Falling, is being made by production company Sixteen Films, which is owned by screenwriter and filmmaker Loach alongside producer Rebecca O’Brien. Filming for the low-budget movie begun last week and took place around the streets of the city centre.
It is the latest in a series of films shot in Glasgow linked to the 87-year-old revered filmmaker, who most recently directed The Old Oak, which was released in September.
Latest project On Falling is written and directed by Portuguese filmmaker Laura Carreira, 29, who is based in Edinburgh. Filming is expected to continue in Glasgow this week with some days in Edinburgh before concluding next month.
A source told the Sunday Mail: “Ken Loach is a directing legend and anything attached to his production company is expected to be good. Filming for On Falling has already begun with some scenes shot around Glasgow last week.
“It is understood there will be some days in Edinburgh before filming wraps next month. It’s unclear who is starring in the film but Scots will be keeping an eye out for any famous faces around the city.

“Loach is a really nice guy and Scots would be delighted to see him back around Glasgow and also in Edinburgh.”
Loach, who is from Nuneaton, northern Warwickshire but now lives in Bath, Somerset, began his career with the BBC in 1963 as a television director. In 2006 Loach received the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival for The Wind That Shakes the Barley 2006 and I, Daniel Blake in 2016.
