EastEnders fans have shared their heartbreak for Jay Brown amid his ongoing drugs storyline.
During scenes aired earlier in the week, Callum Highway set Jay up to be arrested for ketamine possession, in a bid to finally get him off the drug.
However, despite Callum's efforts Jay finally got ketamine from sex worker Nadine whom he'd been seeing in a non-sexual way due to her resemblance to his late wife, Lola Pearce-Brown.
The situation became so sour that Jay became violent and punched Callum after he discovered he'd been stitched up over his arrest.
In scenes aired on Thursday, October 12, Jay seemed deeply remorseful over his outburst, begging Callum for forgiveness.
"I haven't been able to stop thinking about last night, and I'm really sorry," he told him.
Callum was understandably still upset so hurtfully suggested that Lexi at least has "two out of three" dads looking after her.
He then claimed Jay shouldn't be allowed around Lexi until he is able to sort himself out.
It led Jay to feel extremely low-spirited, which led him to call Nadine in a bid to buy more ketamine before he had a change of heart.
Later in the soap, Callum comforts Jay after he opened up to him, explaining he'd considered buying drugs but stopped himself because he didn't want to lose Lexi.
"I'll go to a counsellor. I'll do whatever it takes," he promised Callum.
Fans of the show flocked to social media to share their thoughts on the emotional moment.
@gtiannedoherty simply wrote: "Aw Jay #EastEnders #RIPLola"
@BovaryCee added: "This is how Callum should’ve been like this from the beginning. He should’ve believed Jay when he said why he was seeing Nadine. Instead, he didn’t believe him and was judgmental. I hope Honey and Billy will also help Jay"
