Adam Sandler's latest Netflix project has been hailed by fans as the platform's 'best animation ever made'.
The new film, titled Leo, follows a school pet lizard - voiced by Sandler - who spirals into a midlife crisis after realising he only has a year left to live. At 74 years old, Leo decides to leave his enclosure for good, but instead finds himself acting as a therapist for his troubled fifth grade students.
The film, which is co-written and co-produced by Sandler, also features his wife Jackie, and his daughters, Sunny and Sadie, who all voice characters. Meanwhile Bill Burr voices class turtle, Squirtle, Rob Schneider plays the principal and Allison Strong is fifth-grade teacher Mrs Salinas.

Leo only released on Netflix earlier in November, but the musical-comedy is already proving popular, with fans raving about it on social media. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, @Deltaco27 said: "I can confidently say Leo is probably the best animated film Netflix has ever made. Adam Sandler is hilarious and wholesome in it" as @midnighttsab agreed: "Leo on Netflix is a cute movie. Their best animation me thinks".
@mandybeatriz_ tweeted: "I highly recommend watching the movie LEO on Netflix. It’s an animation about a class lizard living in FL. It was so wholesome and pretty funny" as @Kjerstinism admitted: "I ugly cried at 2am watching this last night. The universe knew I needed it."

Baumbach co-wrote the script with actor Emily Mortimer, who also created the series “Doll and Em.” Baumbach is producing with Amy Pascal and David Heyman. Under his exclusive deal with Netflix, Baumbach has already made “The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected),” in which Sandler also starred, as well as the best picture nominee “Marriage Story,” with Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson, and “White Noise,” adapted from the Don DeLillo novel and starring Drive and Greta Gerwig.
