Despite a ton of uncertainty regarding the financial risks of big-budget films, we know that studios are still finding a lot of success with children’s fare. So, it’s not a surprise that studios, including streamers like Netflix, are still churning out bright, colorful animated films like “The Monkey King” to attract younger audiences.

The first five episodes of “The Witcher” Season 3 premiered on Netflix last month, beginning the send-off of Henry Cavill‘s Geralt of Rivia. But don’t worry, Geralt will return, albeit with Liam Hemsworth in the role.

Hollywood may be bracing for a potential second work stoppage later today, but this morning was a joyous one for many with the announcement of the 2023 Primetime Emmy Awards nominations. Yvette Nicole Brown and Television Academy Chair Frank Scherma revealed a slew of nominees led by “Succession” with 27 nominations, “The Last of Us” with 24 mentions, and “The White Lotus” with 23 nominations.

Earning 66.5 million hours viewed, Season 3: Volume 1 of the show experienced a slight drop from its opening figures — but maintained a solid performance. “The Witcher” Season 3 lead the list of TV titles during the June 26-July 2 viewing window, taking down “Black Mirror” Season 6, with 73 million hours viewed. Running for a total of 4.49 hours, the new season raked in 15.2 million total views. (Netflix calculates total views by dividing hours viewed by the total runtime). Seasons 1 and 2 also rejoined the Top 10 list at No. 6 (2.6 million views) and No. 7 (2.4 million views) as fans revisited or discovered Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer’s journey.

Production on the lavish historical tapestry with elements comparable to “Downton Abbey” or “The Crown” – and potential to make a global mark – is currently underway in the Sicilian cities of Palermo, Syracuse and Catania. The show is a modern take on the sensual Sicilian saga famously adapted into a film by Luchino Visconti starring Claudia Cardinale, Alain Delon and Burt Lancaster. The movie, now an Italian cinema classic, won the 1963 Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

Zombieverse.Zombieverse will star K-pop idol Tsuki of Billlie, Sweet Home actress Lee Si-young, TV personality Noh Hong-chul, comedian Park Na-rae, 2 Days And 1 Night star DinDin and more.The series will feature the aforementioned celebrities as “survivors” of a zombie apocalypse in Seoul who will have to band together in order to find food, transport, shelter and more. They will also have to complete daily tasks while avoid being “bitten” to stay in the game.The new teaser for the series shows the cast of Zombieverse trying to escape from the zombies in different places across Seoul, including a theme park, a supermarket and the popular nightlife district of Hongdae.“There will be new zombies, survivors and unique scenes, which have not been seen in the existing zombie-themed projects.
