After Prince William and Kate Middleton stunned on the red carpet at the "Top Gun: Maverick" premiere, the Duchess explained why her three children were not in attendance. While talking with children at the premiere on Thursday night, Middleton explained Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis’ absence.  "It’s a school night," Middleton said with a small laugh. The BBC’s Platinum Party At The Palace concert to mark the Queen’s 70 years on the throne will see a huge range of musicians perform including rock band Queen with American pop star Adam Lambert opening. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set for a "frosty showdown" with Prince William at Kate Middleton when they reunite for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are due to fly from the US to the UK along with their two children Archie and Lilibet to celebrate the Queen's record breaking 70 years on the throne next month. Harry, 37, and 40 year old Meghan shared their excitement over their pending visit to the UK, which will mark the first time all the Sussex's have been to the UK since Harry and Meghan stepped down from their roles as senior working royals in 2020.The couple will not be joining the working royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony, despite reports the Queen invited them to do so last month.

ET understands Harry’s relatives are also looking forward to meeting the couple's infant daughter and seeing Archie, who is now a 3-year-old toddler. While ET has learned that it was the sovereign herself who invited Harry and Meghan to attend her celebrations, they will not be permitted to partake in the royal family's traditional balcony appearance at Buckingham Palace during the annual Trooping the Colour event.

A never-before-seen portrait of the Queen has been unveiled in celebration of her Platinum Jubilee.The image was captured by Robert Munday and was presented publicly for the first time by the photographer as he launched his exhibition of light sculptures at Dorchester Collection’s 45 Park Lane in London.The new portrait, titled Platinum Queen: Felicity, was taken in 2004 and shows the monarch flashing a knowing smirk in the midst of sharing a joke with confidante and senior dresser, Angela Kelly, during a test shot organised by Munday.The photo session had been set up to gather images for the first official 3D hologram of the Queen, 95, and lead to the offhand moment that the public doesn’t usually get to see.
