European Film Awards 2023: Winners List (Updating Live)

Leo Barraclough International Features Editor The 36th European Film Awards are underway at the Arena in the German capital of Berlin. The awards have been voted on by the 4,600 members of the European Film Academy.
Around 1,000 guests are expected at the event. Jonathan Glazer’s “The Zone of Interest” and Aki Kaurismäki’s “Fallen Leaves” led the European Film Awards race after nominations for the major categories were revealed.
The films were nominated in all five major categories – European film, director, screenwriter, actor and actress. Justine Triet’s “Anatomy of a Fall” was close behind with four nominations – film, director, screenwriter and actress.
All three films were prizewinners at Cannes: “The Zone of Interest” took the festival’s Grand Prize, “Fallen Leaves” won the Jury Prize, and “Anatomy of a Fall” was the Palme d’Or winner. The winners of some awards have already been announced and will be present.
These are Spanish filmmaker Isabel Coixet (European Achievement In World Cinema), Lithuanian producer Uljana Kim (Eurimages International Co-Production Award), British actor Vanessa Redgrave (European Lifetime Achievement Award), Turkish entrepreneur Güler Sabancı (European Sustainability Award – Prix Film4Climate) and Hungarian filmmaker Béla Tarr (Honorary Award). Among the nominees attending the awards are German actor Leonie Benesch (“The Teachers’ Lounge”), German actor Christian Friedel (“The Zone of Interest”), Italian director Matteo Garrone (“Me Captain”), British director Jonathan Glazer (“The Zone of Interest”), Polish director Agnieszka Holland (“Green Border”), German actor Sandra Hüller (“Anatomy of a Fall,” “The Zone of Interest”), British actor Mia McKenna-Bruce (“How to Have Sex”), Finnish
