Emmerdale fans were taken-aback when Lydia Dingle star Karen Blick unveiled an ultra glamorous new look on her Instagram page. The 48 year old actress, who has played loveable Lydia since she joined the ITV soap in 2016, swiftly became a firm favourite in the Yorkshire Dales. When Lydia fell in love with almost-original Sam Dingle (James Hooton), she became a firm fixture in the village. But outside of her understated, often makeup-free character, who is a cleaner in Emmerdale, Karen shares all sorts of snaps dolled up on her social media. This time though, the star teased there is something major ahead for Lydia herself.
Rocking blowdried auburn waves and super glam makeup, Karen grinned for the camera as she posed alongside one of the soap's makeup artists. "Great morning at work today filming something special with @hootonjames for @emmerdale," the actress teased. "Thank you @jessica_orourke1 for fabulous hair and make up! #emmerdale #hairandmakeup Happy Sunday X." Wearing a gorgeous floral long-sleeved dress, Karen looked stunning, and worlds away from the look her character normally embodies.
What's more, Mandy Dingle star Lisa Riley went on to tease she was involved in the top-secret filming too. "Love and Love…..hope you had as much fun as we did," the actress wrote. Karen replied: "@lisajaneriley we had a blast! Really enjoyed it and laughed a lot." Fans took to the comments to praise Lydia's the new look.
"Wow Karen beautiful as always..love the dress too..can't wait to see wot happens in ED..love to u all," one person shared.
