Emerald Fennell’s ‘Saltburn’ is coming to Prime Video in time for Christmas

As Elspeth Catton, Saltburn’s bohemian but bloodless matriarch, Rosamund Pike strikes an unnervingly accurate note as the crushingly careless mother of Jacob Elordi’s character Felix. When Felix brings home Oliver (Barry Keoghan), his apparently lame duck of a new friend from Oxford University, Elspeth is delighted to add a new tragic case to her collection of playthings. Already among them is Carey Mulligan’s lost soul character, Poor Dear Pamela — an old friend on the run from a messy breakup with a Russian oligarch. Fennell asked if she was going to drink it black, to which Pike stated that she was going to add milk.

The movie Saltburn is now in theaters and it features so many moments throughout the film that will leave you quite shocked that you’re even witnessing it on the big screen.

Charli XCX has written about her love of the “absolutely fabulous” screenplay for this year’s Saltburn, a film she sees as a “homage to the gay gothic genre”. The film’s script was written by its director Emerald Fennell, who had previously made Promising Young Woman.

Sources tell Deadline that the studio has landed rights to the Christmas comedy Naughty, which has Olivia Wilde directing and LuckyChap producing. The package is based on a spec by Cocaine Bear scribe Jimmy Warden, and the auction saw several studios in the mix with Universal ultimately delivering the winning bid.
