Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards on Dancing on Ice 2024 - partner, biopic and other TV appearances

Six more celebrities will be skating onto the ice rink this Sunday as they start their Dancing on Ice journey on ITV.
The competition returned last week as the first batch of contestants showed off their skills to the judging panel. Among the celebrities were boxer Ricky Hatton, S Club star Hannah Spearritt, actor Ryan Thomas and Olympic athlete Greg Rutherford.
This week, we will see the next lot of budding skaters make their first appearance on the show - including Eddie Edwards, better known as Eddie the Eagle, who is certainly no stranger to winter sports.

Skiing stuntman Eddie, who has been partnered with pro dancer Vicky Ogden, became the first person to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping in 1988. He held the British ski jumping record from 1988 to 2001 and became a stunt jumping world record holder for jumping over six buses.
The sportsman, whose real name is Michael, joined the Dancing on Ice lineup last year as the replacement for former Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb, who had to withdraw from the competition due to an injury. He was originally paired with professional skater Tippy Packard but she had to pull out after sustaining a knee injury during their training.
Vicky, who is competing in the show this year for the fifth time, was later announced as her replacement. The 39-year-old met her now husband Sam Attwater on the show in 2011. The couple, who competed in the All Stars version of the show in 2014 and married the same year, now have two kids together.
