EastEnders actor Derek Martin, who played the iconic character of Charlie Slater on the BBC One soap, has celebrated his 90th birthday. The star appeared to be having a fantastic time as he enjoyed the festivities with his two sons David and Jonathan. There was also a ginormous birthday cake covered in fruit for the birthday boy, and the words "Happy 90th Birthday Derek" were written in icing on top.
The actor opted for a smart white shirt and navy jumper for his party, and he was all smiles as he tucked in to some strawberry slices while posing for photos. Fans couldn't believe just how young the actor looked, believing he's barely aged since leaving EastEnders. "Happy 90th birthday Derek, hope you have enjoyed your special day celebrating," one person commented.
Another fan wrote: "My god he looks like how he did many years back. Doesn't look 90 at all! Happy Birthday Derek. ""90?!!!! He looks about 75 at most! X Happy Birthday x," a third soap fan said.
