EastEnders fans think they've sussed out Cindy Beale's return to the BBC soap and her new back story.
The character was sensationally revealed to be making a comeback over 20 years after she was killed off-screen, while the BBC soap is yet to confirm the news. Fans are now speculating whether the 'return' of Michelle Collins could tie in with another set of new arrivals in Albert Square.
George Knight recently arrived in Walford alongside his family, who have made references to his mysterious ex wife who walked out on the family years ago. After their dramatic arrival, George's partner Elaine began explaining to her daughter Linda that the ex wife “walked out” on him and their daughters “suddenly”.
Eagle-eyed fans started to piece together the clues and have speculated that Cindy Beale could return as George Knight's ex wife.
“So Cindy Beal must be George’s wife? 9 years since she done a runner and all the girls have is her Jewellery box? Lucy Beale springs to mind almost 9 years ago she was killed!” one fan proclaimed online.
A second echoed: “9 years ago there mum walked out on them.... 9 years ago Cindy walked out on them.” While a third penned: “Cindy Beale is going to be George’s ex wife and the new girls mum isn’t she? #Eastenders.”
"@bbceastenders ohh the ring at the end of todays episode I'm i right in saying that said "Cindy's" Rose #cindybeale #EastEnders #georgeknight," another wrote. While a fifth penned: "It's looking very likely Cindy was given a new identity as 'Rose' under witness protection, which George will be aware of but told to keep quiet #EastEnders."
Fans have been piecing clues together and have come up with a theory that Rose is Cindy, after Cindy faked her death in the 90s. A new episode synopsis
