Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) has caused nothing but trouble since returning to EastEnders.
The villain has continued to torment Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) along with other Walford residents, and he's now gone to extreme measures to ensure his daughter Jade Masood (Elizabeth Green) doesn't jet to Pakistan with her mum Shabnam. Jade - who has cystic fibrosis - has been suffering from a chest infection as she recovers from her lung transplant, but unknown to her, her dad has been tampering with her antibiotics.
The teen has been left wondering why she's so poorly in emotional scenes, with Dean insisting she isn't well enough to go to Pakistan. The storyline could lead to Dean's exit, some fans think, as a big clue was dropped in a recent episode.
Jade has struck up a bond with Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), who is very close to Dean's mum Shirley Carter (Linda Henry). Shirley has been absent from Walford ever since her son Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) got lost at sea during Christmas 2022. Dean has since claimed Shirley has been admitted to a psychiatric ward - but this has never been confirmed or proven true.
Fans have been eagerly waiting for Shirley to return to Albert Square, as actress Linda previously said her departure is only temporary. Could Jean have contacted Shirley about Dean's antics? Fans have been sharing their theories on X about the storyline. One person said: “Linda and Phil team up and bring Shirley back to take Dean down.” Someone else added: “Jean mentioning Shirley (her best friend)… Let’s hope this is the beginning of the Shirley return… she’s gotta come and sort Dean out.” Another fan wrote on Facebook: “Poor jade, hate Dean.
