Omid Scobie's new book Endgame has been removed from shelves in Holland after the Dutch translation seemed to reveal the identity of the alleged "royal racist". In his new book, Royal writer Omid Scobie claimed that not one, but two royals made unkind comments about the skin colour of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's unborn son, Archie.
In 2021, the Sussexes shocked the world when they told Oprah Winfrey in a jaw-dropping interview that a high-ranking Royal had expressed "concern" over their baby's skin tone. Omid, who is often rather pro-Harry and Meghan, after his previous biography 'Finding Freedom', said UK law stopped him from revealing the names of the royals.
However, a page from a review copy of the book sent to Dutch journalists seemed to reveal the name of the Royal who allegedly made the comments. OK! have opted against publishing the name of the Royal in question.
A Dutch journalist spotted a controversial passage in the book 'Endgame' and shared on his X (formerly Twitter) profile: "NL (Netherlands) version 'Endgame' must be withdrawn from sale, says Dutch publisher at request of the US agent. "A number of passages have sparked debate, may not have been accurately presented.
"This seems to concern also the accusation against XXX (name redacted), about Archie's skin colour ." He further tweeted, sharing an English translation of the Dutch copy of the book: "This is - as far as I know - only regarding the Dutch version, not the English one." "It seems as if only the Dutch version has published the person's name who spoke about the skin colour (sic)of the unborn child. XXX (name redacted)." In the English version of Scobie's book, no names of Royal family members who may have made the comments are published.
