Dua Lipa shares lead single from ‘Barbie’ Movie, ‘Dance The Night’

Dua Lipa is pushing fans onto the dance floor with her groove-heavy new single and accompanying music video, from the soundtrack to the upcoming “Barbie” movie.

The soundtrack for the upcoming Greta Gerwig-directed ‘Barbie’ movie has been announced, with Lizzo, Haim, Charli XCX and Tame Impala among the artists who have contributed new music. Out now is new Dua Lipa track ‘Dance The Night’.Executive produced by Mark Ronson, the album is also set to feature contributions from Ryan Gosling – who stars as Ken in the movie – plus Nicki Minaj, Khalid, PinkPantheress, The Kid Laroi, Ava Max, Ice Spice, Dominic Fike, Fifty Fifty, Gayle, Kali, Karol G, Aldo Ranks and two more names still to be announced.Aqua’s 1997 song ‘Barbie World’ is set to appear on the soundtrack as well, although it’s a new version performed by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice.

Thania Garcia Dua Lipa has shared the first single off the incoming “Barbie” soundtrack: a slick, disco-pop number titled “Dance The Night.” The track was released alongside a playful, and perfectly pink music video featuring clips of the movie and a cameo from director Greta Gerwig. As a bonafide synth-pop hitmaker, Dua pulls retro-futuristic inspiration from her last record “Future Nostalgia” to craft the disco delight of “Dance The Night.” “Baby you can find me under the lights / Diamonds under my eyes,” Dua sings in the first few lines of the song. In the matching music video, Dua shows up on set and is shocked to see the giant disco ball that Gerwig ordered for the video has been accidentally destroyed.
