Dua Lipa’s BRITS leather gown was a showstopper – and we’ve found a wearable £60 alternative

As a rule, red carpet looks aren’t necessarily supposed to be wearable. They’re meant to be showstopping outfits that will typically only see the light of day at elite, luxury events like awards ceremonies and movie premieres. However that doesn’t mean we can’t take a little bit of inspo from them, especially when they’re as good as Dua Lipa’s.The singer hit the BRITS red carpet wearing a custom Versace black leather gown, with a cut out harness neckline and a pooling train that had us all quite literally stunned.

Songwriters Slam Unfair Streaming Payments in Sadly Hilarious New Video — but Will Anything Change?

Jem Aswad Executive Editor, Music One of the saddest ironies in the music world is the fact that songwriters are at the very bottom of the streaming economy. While there’s no question that streaming, and Spotify in particular, saved the music business after 15 years of financial freefall, the jury is still out on who exactly was saved. Major music companies are enjoying record profits, as are many superstar artists — but many others further down the income scale, and especially songwriters, have been left behind by the streaming payment model.

Idles Uncork One of the Most Innovative Rock Records in Years With the Bruising ‘Tangk’: Album Review

Jem Aswad Executive Editor, Music These days it can be all too easy for rock fans to fall into despair. What was the last truly culture-shifting new rock band? The Strokes? The White Stripes? Alternative forms of rock have been thriving, but it’s been a grim two decades for traditional guitar-based rock, as even the powers-that-be behind Grammy nominations seemed to have trouble finding worthy nominees beyond the usual Queens-of-the-Foo-Kings suspects (although they have branched out in recent years).
