Thania Garcia Drake continues his record-breaking spree on the Billboard charts with the release of his latest full-length release, “For All The Dogs.” All 23 of the songs on Drake’s 13th No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 appear in the top 50 of the singles chart this week, with Drake and J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter” debuting atop the list.
The majority of “For All the Dogs” opening units were propelled by its potent push on streaming, as most of Drake’s releases have since 2017’s “More Life.” The record tallied a whopping 514.01 million streams of its songs in its first week — the largest streaming week of 2023 for any album, and the fourth-largest ever. Drake’s “Scorpion” is the most-streamed record of all time (745.92 million in 2018), followed by his own “Certified Lover Boy” (743.67 million in 2021), Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” (549.26 million in 2022), “For All the Dogs” and Drake and 21 Savage’s “Her Loss” (513.56 million in 2022). “First Person Shooter” leads with a little over 42 million streams and 4.3 million airplay impressions, per Luminate.
With this, Drake is now tied with Michael Jackson for the most No. 1 singles among solo males (13), and the fourth-most among all acts. To celebrate, Drake posted a photoshopped picture of Jackson wearing his label OVO’s merchandise with the caption “Mooooooooood,” and tagged J.
Cole. At No. 2 is Drake and 23-year-old American rapper Yeat’s “IDGAF,” followed by Drake’s “Virgina Beach.” Doja Cat’s “Paint the Town Red” extends its stay atop the Hot 100, breaking up the consecutive Drake takeover though it continues at No.s 5, 6, 8 and 10 with “Calling for You,” “Slime You Out,” “Daylight,” and “Fear Of Heights,” respectively.
