That's the verdict from ex-Scotland international turned talkSPORT pundit, Ally McCoist, who has urged the rarely used Dutchman to explore his options during the January transfer window.

Everton have been tentatively backed to revive their interest and there is also the prospect of Tottenham.
United might be unwilling to do business with a top-rival rival in that respect, but McCoist feels as though van de Beek would, perhaps, be the man to fill Eriksen's shoes. Indeed, the Dane left north London in January 2020 is now without a club after leaving Inter Milan.
He has, though, been given the green light to resume his career following a heart scare on Euro 2020 duty.
