Depeche Mode announce support acts for 2023 European tour

Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band have announced the support acts for their BST Hyde Park shows in London.Announced today (April 20), The Boss shared the three acts that will be joining his band on July 6 and 8.On the first date they will be supported by The Chicks and Frank Turner and his touring band The Sleeping Souls.The Chicks will also return for the second date along with James Bay. The shows are part of Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band’s forthcoming UK tour which also includes shows at BT Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on May 30 and Villa Park in Birmingham on June 16.

Mac DeMarco has announced plans for a world tour later this year, including three dates in London.The singer-songwriter is due to hit the road in July, kicking off at The Ford Theatre in LA on July 14 before taking in further shows in New York and Paris and finally wrapping up at Hackney Empire on August 1 following a run of a trio of gigs.Accompanied by a full band, DeMarco play an intimate set which will see him performing his recent instrumental album ‘Five Easy Hot Dogs’ in its entirety along with songs from his back catalogue with new arrangements.Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10am local time for the London and New York this Friday (April 21) and 11am local time for Paris on the same day. The LA concert will go on sale at 10am local time on May 9.

Public Image Ltd have announced their first new album in eight years and an accompanying UK tour for later in the year.The album, titled ‘End Of World’, is set for release on August 11 and is dedicated to frontman John Lydon‘s late wife Nora Forster, who died last week at the age of 80. She had been living with Alzheimer’s disease for five years and Lydon had been her full-time carer.‘End Of World’ features the song ‘Hawaii’ as its closing track, which Lydon had written as a “love letter” to Forster. The band had used the song in their bid to represent Ireland at this year’s  Eurovision Song Contest, but they lost out to Dublin quarter Wild Youth.“Nora loved the album, she wouldn’t have wanted us to postpone it or change any of our plans,” Lydon said in a press release.

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic The Eddie Vedder-founded Ohana Festival in southern California will again feature the Pearl Jam frontman as one of the top attractions in 2023, as is customary, along with a heavy-hitting selection of rock names in the top slots and an eclectic lineup for the undercard slots. The Killers and Foo Fighters join Vedder as the headliners for the three-day festival, taking place Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at Doheny State Beach in Doheny Point. Haim, the Chicks and the Pretenders are the second-billed acts across the three days. Other marquee attractions in the idyllic beachside setting will include Father John Misty, the War on Drugs, Japanese Breakfast, Goose and Rainbow Kitten Surprise.

New Order have announced they’ll be heading out on the road later this year… but they won’t be playing a date in Manchester. The nearest show will be in Leeds in October.

New Order have announced details of a UK and European tour, with Confidence Man due to support – see full dates below.The new dates follow a run of shows in North America in March which included a performance and in conversation key-note speech with the band at the SXSW Festival.The band also performed earlier in the same week as part of Austin City Limits Live at the Moody Theater.New Order will begin their upcoming tour on September 21 at Copenhagen Royal Arena, before heading to Amsterdam, Paris, London, Dublin and Glasgow. They finish up in Leeds at the First Direct Arena on October 7.Tickets for the tour will be on sale this Friday, April 14 at 9.30am.

Fatboy Slim has announced the line-up for 2023’s edition of All Back to Minehead festival.Following last year’s inaugural event, the festival returns to Butlin’s Minehead resort from November 10-13. Depeche Mode appeared on BBC Radio 2’s Piano Room, where they performed three songs accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra, and spoke to presenter Gary Davies.Performing at BBC’s Maida Vale studios for the first time, the duo – Dave Gahan and Martin Gore – shared versions of ‘Walking In My Shoes’, ‘Ghosts Again’ and a reworking of Gordon Lightfoot’s ‘Sundown’.During the show, Davies played some listener questions, one of which was: “I’m really interested to know if you have your own idol, musically or otherwise?”Gahan replied: “Yeah, I mean straight away, even when you’re saying that sentence, it’s always been and always will be Bowie. I got to know him a little bit as well in the last few years of his life just because our daughters’ went to the same school in New York.

Stray Kids have added concerts in Los Angeles, Japan and the Philippines to the upcoming 2023 leg of their ‘Maniac’ world tour.On November 7, the group shared a string of announcements unveiling additional dates for their 2023 ‘Maniac’ world tour. These include a series of “encore” shows in Los Angeles and the cities of Tokyo and Osaka in Japan.

Coldplay have announced the support acts for their upcoming 2023 UK and European ‘Music Of The Spheres’ tour dates.The band have been on tour across the planet since last spring, and played a host of UK stadium gigs last summer including six sold-out Wembley Stadium gigs.This summer, the band will return to the UK and Europe for further stadium dates following gigs in South America. Across May, June and July, the band will play Portugal, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and more, with two new UK dates in Manchester and Cardiff.The new dates will kick off in Coimbra, Portugal on May 17, before the band will play two shows at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on May 31 and June 1.Leading the list of support names for the stadium shows are Griff and Chvrches, the latter of whom supported the band in South America, with vocalist Lauren Mayberry joining them on stage in São Paulo.Other bands set to support Coldplay include Hinds and Porij.

It aired on the radio during the band’s huge North American arena tour behind comeback album ‘Memento Mori’.Asked by the BBC‘s Gary Davies of their memories of recording ‘Walking In My Shoes’ in the early 1990s, Gahan said: “I don’t have many. That’s not a good thing, but I really don’t remember recording that song and it was a particular time when we were all having too much fun outside of work and I guess it caught up with us, but it’s one of those songs that never gets old when you perform it.“It always evolves.
