Joe Biden may be returning to the White House — as president, this time. The former vice president and senator from Delaware, 76, officially clinched the Democratic presidential nomination on Friday, June 5 thanks to the seven recent primaries needed to win. On April 15, he become the presumptive Democratic nominee for president after his remaining competitor, Senator Bernie Sanders, dropped out of the race on April 8.

BET is offering President Donald Trump and presumptive Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden the opportunity to face Black America in a presidential forum that would air on June 19, also known as Juneteenth, a day that celebrates the abolishment of slavery in this country. 

Joe Biden spent time chatting and taking photos with supporters in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware this week, as seen in since-expired videos, initially posted to his Instagram Stories. The presumptive Democratic nominee wore a protective mask amid the COVID-19 pandemic. He took photos with three black males, one of which can be heard saying, “He’s got my vote,” in the clip.

Former Vice President Joe Biden delivered an impassioned speech slamming President Donald Trump on June 2, calling him out for “fanning the flames of hate” amid nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd. Trump tweeted days earlier that protestors were “thugs,” and threatened on June 1 to invoke the Insurrection Act as demonstrators launched into their fourth day of protesting police brutality while being teargassed by police.
