‘Daredevil: Born Again’: Jon Bernthal To Return As The Punisher In Marvel Studios’ Upcoming Series

EXCLUSIVE: Arty Froushan (Carnival Row) has a major role in Marvel’s upcoming revival series on Disney+, Daredevil: Born Again, Deadline has learned. Word of Froushan’s casting comes after on-set photo of Vince D’Onofrio leaked online included a glimpse of Froushan.

When it was originally announced, the “Daredevil: Born Again” TV adaptation was said to take place over 18 episodes. This is a huge commitment from Marvel Studios, who has typically kept shows to nine episodes, at most.

Daredevil: Born Again, photos have emerged of Charlie Cox on set for the series in New York City.Playing the character Matt Murdock, Cox was candidly photographed behind the scenes for the upcoming Marvel project, which is set to premiere on Disney+ in the spring of 2024.The now viral photo provides fans with a glimpse of what they can expect from the Daredevil: Born Again cast, as Cox returns with his infamous red-coloured glasses and white cane.A Daredevil: Born Again twitter account captioned the photo: “Our best look at Charlie Cox & Nikki M. James on the set of “DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN”.

But something shocked her.   “Look at this! Two women!” Alonso said of the female photographers hired for the gig (as in most corners of Hollywood, women are outnumbered by men on the photo line). Emotional, Alonso insisted the pair put down their cameras and pose for a photo with her in front of a giant Oscar statuette. As they all smiled, she told them, “We’ve worked so hard to get here, and we’re not going anywhere.”

As one of the most influential executives in Hollywood, Alonso has played an instrumental role in shaping the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and pushing for greater representation in the industry.During her 17-year tenure at Marvel, Alonso helped turn the company from one that was squandering its intellectual property into one of the biggest money-makers in Hollywood.

Deadline has confirmed that the esteemed Marvel executive and EP of several movies, Victoria Alonso, has exited Marvel Studios after a 17 year run. No reasons were given for her departure, which was effective Friday. It is quite a shocker given her amiable demeanor and passion for all things Marvel.

She joined Marvel Studios in 2005 as executive vice president of visual effects and postproduction, serving as co-producer on early Marvel Cinematic Universe films like “Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor” and “Captain America: The First Avenger.” Since then, Alonso has worked as an executive producer on every Marvel Cinematic Universe film and TV show since 2012’s “The Avengers.” In 2015, Alonso was promoted to executive vice president of production, and in 2021 she was upped to president of physical, post production, VFX and animation at Marvel Studios. She has producing credits on the upcoming films “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” and “The Marvels,” plus the Disney+ shows “Secret Invasion,” “Ironheart,” “Echo” and “Agatha: Coven of Chaos.”

Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again has reportedly confirmed its first major cast change from the original Netflix series.Set to premiere in 2024, Daredevil: Born Again will see Charlie Cox return as Matt Murdoc/Daredevil while Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Cox made his MCU debut in Spiderman: No Way Home and D’Onofrio appeared in Hawkeye.They’ll reportedly be joined in Born Again by Jon Bernthal who is set to return as Frank Castle aka The Punisher.However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the Disney show has confirmed its first major cast difference from the Netflix series.

It’s been a busy week for Marvel’s “Daredevil: Born Again” as production is ramping up in NYC. First, it was announced that Jon Bernthal would be returning to the role of Frank Castle, aka, The Punisher, in the Disney+ series alongside fellow former “Daredevil” cast members Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in their respective Marvel roles.

Jon Bernthal is returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the gun-toting vigilante for the upcoming Disney+ series “Daredevil: Born Again.” After news first broke on March 7 of Bernthal’s return as the character, he posted an image of himself as The Punisher to his Instagram, while also sharing a clip on the official “Real Ones With Jon Bernthal” YouTube channel titled “Frank Castle is back.” Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher, was first introduced in Netflix’s mini universe of street-level Marvel characters. He debuted in Season 2 of “Daredevil” in 2016, then went on to star in his own, self-titled spinoff that ran for two seasons.
