Alec Baldwin criticised for “tone-deaf” ‘Rust’ post

Alec Baldwin has been criticised for a post about the conclusion of filming on Rust, with many calling it “tone-deaf”.In October 2021, while filming the movie on location, Baldwin was holding a Colt .45-caliber pistol that fired a live round, killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.Baldwin and the movie’s armourer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, were then both charged with involuntary manslaughter, before the charges were downgraded last month. After production was halted, it recently resumed at the Yellowstone Film Ranch in Montana and wrapped this week.Taking to Instagram, Baldwin shared a photo of himself smiling with actor Patrick Scott McDermott, captioning the post: “Last day on the set of RUST with this guy. A very talented actor and lovely young man with a bright future ahead.”In the comments of the post, Baldwin was heavily criticised, with one saying it was in “horribly poor taste” that “they still moved forward with the film because “a human life was lost”.See the post here.Last month, Baldwin called for a lawsuit filed by the parents and sister of Hutchins to be dismissed.

Everything We Know About ‘Beetlejuice 2’

Sophia Scorziello editor A new “Beetlejuice” chapter from Tim Burton is on the way, with “Wednesday” breakout Jenna Ortega joining stars from the original horror comedy. The film is a sequel to Burton’s 1988 classic about a family in their new home and the married ghost couple (Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) trying to dispel them. The family’s curious goth teenage daughter, Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder), is the only human able to see the ghosts. After befriending them, Lydia soon finds herself mixed up in horrors and complexities of the afterlife. In 2013, Ryder addressed the possibility of a “Beetlejuice 2.” She told the Daily Beast, “It’s not a remake. It’s 27 years later. And I have to say, I love Lydia so much. She was such a huge part of me. I would be really interested in what she is doing 27 years later.”

Michael Keaton Asked ‘The Flash’ Director to Take Photos of Him in the Batsuit So He Could Show His Grandson: ‘Very Emotional’

Zack Sharf Digital News Director “The Flash” director Andy Muschietti recently told IGN that Michael Keaton was overcome with emotions on set when he first stepped into the Batcave, which the production design team created in full on the studio lot. The moment marked Keaton’s first time in the Batcave in nearly 30 years, as “The Flash” is his first time playing Batman/Bruce Wayne since 1992’s “Batman Returns.” “When [Keaton] arrived to the set, the Batcave was already finished and it was lit and everything,” Muschietti said. “He stayed like this [eyes wide] for a while. I didn’t want to interrupt him. I just wanted for him to take it in. Who knows what was going on there? But something was going on there.”

‘The Flash’ Debuts at CinemaCon With Plenty of Easter Eggs and Cheers for Michael Keaton’s Batman

CinemaCon. “The Flash,” the DC Comics superhero adventure starring Ezra Miller, played to a mostly enthusiastic audience at the annual convention of movie theater owners in Las Vegas on Tuesday evening. In the lead-up to the debut, executives at Warner Bros. and DC touted “The Flash” as “one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.” It may not have cleared those stratospheric expectations (there was a little film called “The Dark Knight,” after all), but the finished product elicited plenty of cheers, laughs and maybe a few tears in the room at Caesars Palace. That said, CinemaCon is hardly the Cannes Film Festival. The audience at the Colosseum, filled with movie theater owners from across the globe, is one with a vested interest in the success of the blockbuster-hopeful. But showcasing “The Flash” in this capacity is yet another sign of Warner Bros.’ passionate support of the project, one that has been plagued over the years with controversies surrounding Miller, as well as myriad director shake-ups, COVID-19 delays and a regime change at the studio and at DC. CinemaCon marked the first screening of “The Flash” ahead of its theatrical debut on June 16.
