Dannii Minogue and Mel B among celebs sharing tributes as Home and Away star Johnny Ruffo dies

Australian actor and singer Johnny Ruffo, famed for playing Chris Harrington in Home and Away, has sadly passed away aged 35 following a lengthy battle with brain cancer. The former Home and Away actor and X Factor contestant tragically passed away on Friday 10 November at a hospital in Sydney surrounded by his family and partner Tahnee Sims. News of Johnny's passing was shared on his Instagram account and his heartbroken celeb pals have flooded the comment section with their emotional tributes.
Dannii Minogue, who has recently been back on TV screens as the host of new LBGTQ+ dating show, I Kissed A Boy, was among the stars who shared their sadness at the news. Danii, 52, led the tributes to the late actor and musician. She had her start in the spotlight by playing punky teen Emma Jackson on Home and Away in 1998.
Commenting on the post which announced the sad passing of Johnny on Instagram, Dannii wrote: "The cheekiest chap. His voice, smile and dancing feet will be missed by so many." The former X Factor judge continued: " Thinking of his family in this heartbreaking time." Meanwhile Spice Girls star Mel B, who is a judge on Australia's The Masked Singer, also paid tribute to the Australian actor . She replied to the heartfelt post: "My heart just broke.
Sending my sincere condolences." Mel B's fellow Masked Singer judge comedian Dave Hughes added: "A (star emoji) has moved to the next world. Go well Johnny." In August 2017, Ruffo announced that he had been diagnosed with brain cancer after seeking help for painful migraines and was starting "aggressive treatment". In 2019, he announced his cancer was in remission but the following year it sadly returned.
