Bez’s dreams of performing in a kilt as a true Scotsman on this weekend’s Dancing on Ice show have been dashed, according to reports.
The former Happy Monday's maracas man is due to appear on the ITV show in a kilt as he performs a traditional Highland Fling routine.
But the 57-year-old, whose real name is Mark Berry, had originally planned to bare all underneath the Scottish garment for the show.
The Sun reports that those hopes were canned by producers over fears that he may flash his melons to viewers at home.
Dancing on Ice bosses reportedly took his practice runs on the rink into consideration, where he has been shown to enjoy a fall or two on the ice.
A source told the publication: “He was keen to take to the ice with nothing preserving his modesty.
“But given he’s already highly precarious during his routines, producers couldn’t risk a misplaced skate in his melons.
“Bez has resigned himself to the fact that wearing something under his kilt is the sensible course of action, even if he feels it isn’t quite as authentic.”
Bez will be taking to the rink with his Scottish dance partner Angela Egan on tomorrow night’s programme.
The musician has become the first person in Dancing on Ice history to wear a crash helmet while performing.
But his start on the programme was thrown into chaos after he tested positive for Covid - just day after making his debut on the ice last month.
Bez and Angela then returned to the ice last weekend, when they had the audience smiling from ear to ear with their performance to Raiders of the Lost Ark from Indiana Jones.
