He's fresh out of his role having said his on-air farewell on Tuesday but Dan Walker's job on BBC Breakfast is already up for grabs. Things got emotional as the presenter hosted for the final time on the famous red sofa, live from MediaCity.
Dan announced his exit from the show after six years early last month and revealed that he's going to make his way to host Channel 5's revamped 5 News as he replaces Sian Williams.
During his last show, the 45-year-old was treated to a look back at his BBC Breakfast best bits before being reunited with Louise Minchin, who he spent much of his time on the BBC One programme hosting alongside. The programme's tribute to also featured an appearance from his Strictly Come Dancing partner Nadiya Bychkova. And towards the end of the show, Dan made a heartfelt speech as his time on BBC Breakfast came to a close.

But as Dan woke up this morning without having to head to the Salford-based studios, someone else could find themselves treading in his footsteps. The BBC has released the job description for the next BBC Breakfast chief presenter as it seeks a replacement for Dan. The programme's editor Richard Frediani said he is looking for "an outstanding" presenter for the UK's number one rated breakfast show.
The advert, available online from the BBC, says BBC Breakfast is looking for a chief presenter to work alongside Sally Nugent, Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt in a role that aims to inform and entertain viewers and the BBC says a presenter on BBC Breakfast has to have the knowledge and confidence to deal with the main stories of the day.
