Broadcaster Dan Walker has made his first public appearance since recovering from his horror road accident, where he was knocked off his bike by a passing car. Sharing the news of his crash earlier this year, the former BBC Breakfast presenter, 45, shared a shocking picture of his injured and bloodied face while in the back of the accident.
Following the scary incident, he revealed that his helmet saved his life, and encouraged other cyclists to always wear one, writing: "The helmet I was wearing saved my life today so - if you’re on a bike - get one on your head." Having since recovered from his injuries Dan headed on a night out in Mayfair earlier this week as he hosted the Royal Television Society awards ceremony at the Hilton Hotel. Dan smiled for cameras as he left the hotel at 1:15 am before heading to the Wyld Nightclub next door with two pals.
Dress for the occasion the broadcaster looked dapper as he sported a sparkling blue suit, white shirt and black bow tie. During the award's ceremony Dan sparked a continuation of his feud with controversial broadcaster Piers Morgan, after he cracked a joke poking fun at Piers, 57.
Dan made a dig at Piers over his 2021 departure from Good Morning Britain, which happened after he stormed off set when he was grilled about his views on Meghan Markle. Joking about being dosed up on painkillers, Walker said that he’d “lost all my inhibitions”, adding: “To give you an idea of my mental state, let me put it this way: if a weather presenter were to question me in any way, shape, or form, I’m liable to storm off stage in an enormous huff.
“I might even go as far as to start a new TV channel based entirely on my ego, which no-one will watch,” he continued. But the gag did not go down
.Susanna Reid paid tribute to her former co-star Piers Morgan for making her "more argumentative and difficult" as she celebrated 20 years on breakfast TV.
Susanna Reid thanked Piers Morgan for making her “more difficult” during their time presenting Good Morning Britain together. Susanna, who recently branded Hugh Grant “grumpy” as she recalled a previous interview, is celebrating 20 years on breakfast TV this week and is reflecting on some of the highs of her career. Sitting alongside co-presenter Ed Balls on the show on Wednesday morning, Susanna thanked Piers and her former BBC Breakfast colleague, the late Bill Turnbull, who she worked with from 2001 to 2014.

Piers Morgan resigned from Good Morning Britain after refusing to apologise for not believing Meghan Markle's account of life in the Royal Family. However, the 57-year-old broadcaster has now questioned why he didn't receive the same "solidarity" that Gary Lineker recently did for his own situation. One source claimed that Piers' comment was a reference to his former GMB colleague Susanna Reid, who returned to the airwaves immediately after the episode, without making a stand for Piers.
Piers Morgan still feels “let down” by his former Good Morning Britain co-hosts after he controversially walked out on the ITV daytime show, a source has told us. Last week, after Gary Lineker’s Match Of The Day co-stars rallied in support when he was controversially taken off air, TalkTV host Piers, 57, tweeted, “Would have been nice to see the same solidarity.” His jibe came after a fan asked, “Piers, were you disappointed that none of your colleagues didn’t present the day after you left GMB?” The tweet was a reaction to Gary’s many colleagues, including Ian Wright and Alan Shearer, refusing to appear on the BBC sports show after the pundit was suspended for slamming the government’s new asylum policy. And now a source has claimed Piers’ pointed tweet was mainly aimed at his former co-host Susanna Reid, who soldiered on presenting GMB after Piers quit following a row over his negative comments about the Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan Markle allegedly "hated being a second-rate princess" before she made her royal exit with Prince Harry. The claim was made by a Kensington Palace staffer "who remembered Meghan well" in a new book written by Tom Quinn titled "Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family." It features exclusive testimony from palace staff with historical sources, as well as royal insiders. It aims to examine the traditional upbringing of the British royal family and how it has impacted them over the years.
