A clumsy drug dealer has been put behind bars after police discovered his stash of cocaine hidden in fake cans of beans. Connor Jackson, 25, cut out the bottom of Heinz baked bean tins and filled them with bags of drugs.
He then sealed the pretend cans and placed them on a shelf, while also stashing more drugs in a kitchen cupboard. His scheme was uncovered when police searched a house in Crocus Gardens, Edwalton, Nottinghamshire., on 24 February 2021.
They also found bags of cannabis and lots of money hidden under a bed. While the police were looking into the drug find, Jackson was caught by the police again months later. On 13 September 2021, officers saw Jackson driving in Gamston., even though he wasn't allowed to.
Despite trying several times to stop the car, Jackson sped off, making other drivers swerve out of his way. Eventually, he stopped and tried to run away but was caught and arrested nearby.
In court, he admitted to a number of crimes including having drugs with the intention to sell them, careless driving, driving when he wasn't allowed to, and driving without insurance. Jackson, from West Bridgford, was sent to prison for two years and eight months and isn't allowed to drive for three years at Nottingham Crown Court last week.
Sergeant Graham Whitt from Nottinghamshire Police said: "As Jackson found out to his cost, our officers leave no stone unturned when executing these types of warrants.
"Criminals will often come up with different ways to hide things they don't want us to find, so we always keep that in mind when carrying out these searches. In this case, Jackson tried to conceal his drugs inside a set of fake baked bean cans, but this plan was quickly rumbled.
"We will always look to respond
