Cost of living payments are going to provide a much-needed boost to millions of household budgets across the UK over the next few months. More than 7.2 million people have already received the first instalment of the £650 means-tested cost of living payment from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) with the second payment for £324 due to land in accounts this autumn.
People claiming Working Tax Credit or Child Tax Credit from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will receive their payment of £326 in September, with the second round of support due to be made in the winter. Other payments landing in accounts between September and this winter include £150 for people on disability benefits, £300 added to Winter Fuel Payments for pensioner households and the £400 energy bill rebate.
To help households plan their winter budgets, below is a quick guide to which cost of living payments are due and when along with the eligibility criteria.
