Next week will see Corrie's troubled teen Max Turner get an early release from the secure training centre (STC), but he isn't all too happy about leaving there. But when Max returns to the cobles and tries to put his wrongs right he soon learns that his efforts are in vain and it won't be that easy. Max was lonely and vulnerable and street newbie Griff Reynolds groomed the young lad, with Max then spreading his racist agenda across Weatherfield.
As a result of what Griff was telling him, Max made videos for Griff full of racist language and conspiracy theories. Those videos inspired Blake, another troubled teenager, to try and murder Max's neighbour, Alya Nazi, who saved local politician Maria from an attack. Due to those actions, Max was then charged with incitement to murder and sentenced to six months inside at the STC.
Next week, he is set to be released early, and his excited little sister Lilly reveals that the big day has arrived and he is due to come home. Alya's gran Yasmeen Nazir soon finds out that Max is due to be let out and she is horrified as she makes a point of saying that his actions almost caused Alya to die. Yasmeen is not the only person who is shocked as when he is told about the release.
Max is also stunned and puts his bed in the way of his cell door. It isn't long before David arrives to help reassure his adopted son, telling him that he wants to help him. As he speaks to David, Max is left in tears telling him that he did some awful things and he can't face returning home to Coronation Street.
