Coronation Street fans were treated to an extra dose of drama on Wednesday evening’s episode of the long-running soap, when Sarah Platt’s affair with Damon Hay was finally rumbled by her young son Harry. For weeks now, Sarah and Damon have embarked on a steamy forbidden love affair, despite Sarah being in a relationship with lawyer Adam Barlow.
Unable to resist their chemistry, the pair have frequently been caught in a number of steamy trysts, including when Sarah and Damon slept together and enjoyed a night of passion. As the pair once again gave into temptation on Wednesday, it appears they had made one rookie mistake as they failed to lock the door before getting hot and heavy.
Looking on from the doorway to his room, Sarah’s young son Harry clocked sight of the pair snogging, something which later came to light when he recreated the steamy scene by drawing a picture of it for his granny Gail! Confronted by the truth, Gail warned Sarah to behave and not risk her relationship with Adam - although Sarah continued to deny anything had happened between them. Later in the episode, Sarah sat down with Harry to try and smooth over the whole situation by telling him he hadn’t actually seen what he thought he had done.
Encouraging him to lie about it to save her own skin, Harry promptly called his mum out as she had always told him to tell the truth - something she clearly wasn’t doing. Troubled by the gaslighting behaviour, several fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the situation, with many cheering on Harry for having the courage to tell his mother she was wrong.
