Coronation Street stars have congratulated Sair Khan as she made a sweet pregnancy announcement on Instagram. The 35-year-old, who plays Alya Nazir in the soap, shared a black and white photo of herself and her partner Nathan Chilton.
Wearing a floor-length knitted dress, she cradled her baby bump in the photo as she looked up to Nathan. But the news comes after a challenging time for the couple after Nathan had to spend time in hospital last year to have a benign tumour removed from his pelvis.
In a caption accompanying the post, Sair wrote: “Hello…It’s been a little while since posting on here which has been a real mix of emotions. With all that is happening in the world it didn’t feel like the right time to share but we also know it’s okay to keep hope and pray for peace whilst acknowledging that we feel blessed and grateful."

She continued: “Last year was a challenging time for us both with Nathan’s chondroblastoma surgery on his pelvis. It’s been a long road to recovery and still has many obstacles ahead as we deal with the spread of the tumour to his lungs.
“Life can be difficult and there’ll always be challenges to face but there are also important lessons to be learnt and gifts to be cherished. We’re so excited for the arrival of Baby Chilton in Spring 2024.”
She also shared a playful photo of the couple in the same garden, this time in colour with the pair grinning with their thumbs up as Nathan took a selfie. Fellow Coronation Streets congratulated the couple on their news.
