Coronation Street introduces Lauren Bolton's 'mum' as Roy Cropper gets into shock fight

Things aren't quite what they seem next week in Coronation Street when Roy Cropper gets himself into more trouble amid news about Lauren Bolton's murder case.
As viewers of the ITV soap know, the beloved cafe owner has been the main suspect in Lauren's disappearance. The teen, played by Cait Fitton, hasn't been seen for weeks as she seemingly abruptly left the cobbles after mentioning leaving to Roy, portrayed by soap icon David Neilson, when he sacked her from her job at the cafe after she admitted to stealing from Bethany Platt's bag while on shift.
Later, a mystery visitor appeared at her door on Valentine's Day and concern was written all over her face as her heart appeared to sink over who was standing in front of her. Viewers were never told who the visitor was and later, Lauren's love interest Bobby found her flat unlocked, with Lauren nowhere to be seen and has been doing his own investigation into her disappearance after he filed a report with the police.

DS Swain and her team have since been heavily involved in the case after blood was found on the curtain of her old flat with the police led to believe she could be dead. While Daniel Osbourne has been questioned, it's Roy who has been most under suspicion by the police and true crime ghouls online.
